DEXcenter Senior Developer

ITI is seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening in our CAD/CAM/CAE Interoperability (C3I) business. The position is at the Senior Developer level in our DEXcenter Product Development team with opportunity to advance to a managerial level. DEXcenter is an enterprise level JEE application supporting global collaboration – both secure managed file transfer and automated PLM/CAD translation, validation, and other processing.

The successful candidate will be a key part of our product development, test, and release processes leading ongoing life cycle activities to meet the requirements of sales, support, customers, and industry standards.  The successful candidate will have solid experience working on enterprise applications with JEE architecture and at least a working knowledge of CAD and PLM applications and possible software testing.   Development activities include researching and defining approach for desired enhancements, developing appropriate specifications, and development or supervision of development to accomplish goals and possible release testing.  Requires interacting with customers and other stakeholders with respect to requirements and with both in house and off-shore development resources.  Senior Developers may have the opportunity to transition into a managerial role.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree (Master of Science degree preferred) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Developers will need 3-5 years of experience and Senior Developers will need 5-10 years of experience with the following: Computer Science or Engineering with focus on Engineering Applications, Engineering IT, or other Engineering software development roles.
  • Experience in the Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, or Heavy Equipment industries supporting one or more of the following disciplines – mechanical design, automation, data management, simulation, quality control, tooling and/or metrology is desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong JEE architecture experience including java, JBOSS application servers, GWT, hibernate, spring, or other frameworks, workflow engines, database applications, and security considerations.
  • Strong product development methodology and tools experience including agile methods, source management, problem resolution, automated testing, etc.
  • Working knowledge of PLM (Teamcenter, Enovia, Windchill) and CAD systems (CATIA, NX and Creo preferred) is desired.   This includes basic ability to interact with PLM systems, create CAD models, manipulate, and translate into other formats, and integrate related applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of database applications and tools (Oracle, MySQL, SQLserver)
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE interoperability processes – direct exchange, neutral file exchange (esp. STEP), visualization, validation, repair/healing, automation
  • Working knowledge of ITI’s CAD interoperability products, particularly DEXcenter, CADIQ, CADfix, and Proficiency
  • Background must include customer interaction experience and a proven record of high-quality project deliveries – on time, under budget and on target with proactive risk identification and management.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong communication, leadership and diplomacy skills.
  • Candidate must work with minimal supervision.
  • Candidate must complete complex tasks with a high level of attention-to-detail then clearly communicate the results, both verbally and in writing, to engineers, managers, sales reps, other developers, customers, etc.

Travel and Location:

  • Relocation to ITI headquarters near Cincinnati, Ohio, is highly desirable but remote options can be considered
  • US citizenship is required. Candidate must reside in the US.
  • Occassional travel may be required

CAD Customer Product Support Specialist

ITI has an immediate opening in our CAD/CAM/CAE Interoperability (C3I) business unit as a Customer Product Support Specialist, specifically for our CADIQ product.  The successful candidate will work with existing and prospective customers to answer questions, resolve issues, provide licenses, product support and demonstrations.  The candidate will train customers on ITI software products, the use of CADIQ and interact with others in the ITI technical teams to rapidly identify and resolve issues.  The candidate may assist sales and delivery teams as required.  The candidate will assist customers with their CADIQ configuration for different use cases.  The candidate will also collaborate with and provide input to the product teams on functionality and ease-of-use as reported through their dealings with customers.  The candidate will also participate in testing new software versions and working with developers to duplicate and resolve problems.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree (Master of Science degree preferred) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, or Heavy Equipment industries in one or more of the following disciplines: mechanical design, automation, data management, simulation, tooling,  metrology, quality control,  customer technical support, customer relations
  • Customer interaction experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have good troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate leadership and diplomacy skills when working with distributed international customer teams
  • Must complete complex tasks with a high level of attention-to-detail and organization,  then clearly communicate the results, both verbally and in writing, to customers,  engineers, managers, sales reps and/or developers

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of one or more CAD systems is required (CATIA, NX and Creo preferred). This includes model creation and/or model reuse in downstream processes.
  • Working knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (C++, Python or Java) is required.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Office software is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of FlexNet licensing
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE interoperability processes – direct exchange, neutral file exchange (esp. STEP), visualization, validation, repair/healing
  • Working knowledge of CAD boundary representation (BREP) data structures, 3D PMI (GD&T, FT&A) data structures/methodologies, and quality control statistics
  • Working knowledge of databases
  • Ability to support a variety of proprietary applications

Travel and Location:

  • Position location is in Milford, Ohio
  • US citizenship is required. Candidate must reside in the US.
  • May eventually include somel travel (domestic and international)

Senior Technical Consultant

ITI is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Technical Consultant position, specializing in CAD migration and translation.  The successful candidate will join ITI’s sales team and deliver comprehensive pre and post-sales support to our clients.  The right candidate will gather client requirements, solve complex technical problems, and present these solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Typical activities include evaluating customer CAD data, product demonstrations and presentations, writing proposals and statements of work, installing and configuring software, and delivering training and project management.  The candidate will focus on ITI’s Proficiency solution, but will support other ITI solutions as required.  They will travel to client sites, tradeshows, and other industry events.  They will also provide industry and client specific feedback to the product team for strategic planning.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences
  • 5-10 years of experience with CAD software as either user, administrator, or technical sales

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one major 3D CAD system (CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor)
  • Working knowledge of multiple CAD systems
  • Ability to author and edit 3D solid models and 2D engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WebEx, or equivalent tools

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of PLM and CAD/CAM/CAE industry
  • Experience with CAD translation tools and processes, and standards such as STEP 242
  • Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) concepts and technologies
  • Candidate must demonstrate leadership and diplomacy skills when working with distributed international project teams
  • Candidate must work with minimal supervision, especially while working remotely

Software Development Engineer (UK)

ITI is a leading US-based provider of advanced solutions for CAD data exchange and re-use. International TechneGroup Limited is the UK-based developer of CADfix, the de-facto solution worldwide for advanced re-use of 3D CAD models between different CAD/CAM/CAE applications.

International TechneGroup Limited is looking for Software Engineers to work on cutting edge research and development of 3D modelling tools in the challenging field of CAD model re-use for advanced engineering analysis and manufacture.

As part of the CADfix product development team you will be directly contributing to the innovation of new product features and functionality, working as part of a small team of developers, driven by specific customer requirements and project goals.


The position offers the following challenges and opportunities

  • Design and implementation of innovative geometric algorithms to solve some of today’s hardest 3D geometry problems, such as automatic model simplification, healing, deformation, abstraction, Medial Axis Transform, spatial partitioning, dimensional reduction, shrink-wrapping, facet-based geometry, 3D printing, point cloud and 3D scan data processing
  • Participation in UK and European research projects in the areas of leading edge CAD/CAM/CAE interoperability, and working in close partnership with leading universities pushing the frontiers of 3D digital modelling and analysis. Presenting progress at UK/EU project review meetings and at selected international conferences.
  • The opportunity to work closely with major industrial OEMs and world leading aerospace and automotive companies in the fields of CAD/CAM/CAE. Close cooperation with key customers is strongly encouraged and regular contact with end users is common.


Requirements:

  • Sound mathematical background, with particular emphasis on geometry and applied numerical methods, coupled with demonstrated ability to convert theory in to successful computer programs, or a sound computer science background with good mathematical understanding and some experience of developing applications for manipulating 3D geometry/graphics.
  • Ability to take toolkits of software components (extend, or develop your own), add some imagination and lateral thinking and create novel solutions to complex real-world requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to present the results of your work in a formal setting.
  • Programming skills: Competent in C/C++. Familiar with developing software on Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Knowledge/experience of the following would be an advantage: Fortran, OpenGL or other graphics APIs, Tcl/Tk, Python, Java or OpenMP/OpenCL.
