2D Legacy Data Migration Services

Each Legacy Data Migration (LDM) project is unique and having managed dozens of these projects, ITI TranscenData Manager Stan Ochs is well positioned to detail migration paths and milestones for each phase of a 2D CAD Data Migration. ITI will employ software tools to automate the migration process based on the design tolerances and parameters of the CAD data. For organizations that lack the tools and knowledge, the migration of 2D data is a costly, time-consuming process and Stan's team are the experts to work with if you need to reuse legacy data.

One of the primary tools used by our project teams to migrate 2D CAD legacy data is the IGESworks software application. IGESworks allows the user to view, analyze, validate and edit files to accelerate the data translation process while ensuring the integrity of the CAD model. IGESworks performs over 500 syntactic and semantic checks and repairs poor geometries. Plus, clients can take advantage of our extensive library of customized scripts and our direct access paths for STEP.

3D Data Migration Services

While 2D CAD Legacy Migration is focused on the effective mapping of a legacy drawing into a more modern format, exchange of 3D CAD data is complicated by differing data representation, geometric tolerances and diverse modeling conventions and practices. These issues lead to CAD model re-work, re-mastering, and in some cases, design divergence.

Our senior engineers work with your staff to deliver automated and interactive solutions for 3D CAD data migrations. With more than 24 years of technology innovation and project experience, we deliver end-to-end results for the translation, repair and defeaturing of 3D CAD data. In the case of 3D Part and/or Assembly LDM projects, ITI may choose to use IGESworks for IGES specific translation paths, CADfix for generalized 3D CAD model interoperability and/or DEXcenter as a secure, automated framework for these Legacy Data Migration processes.

While ITI TranscenData does not develop nor deliver Feature Based Translation technology, ITI does provide CAD re-mastering services with full feature modeling and association of 2D drawings in support of CAD data migration projects when that is the best alternative for the customer. ITI is also often engaged in 3D CAD Data Migration projects as an independent evaluator of the results.
