CADfix V8.1 Service Pack 1 - Interface Enhancements and Upgrades

CADfix V8.1 Service Pack 1 contains updates to CAD interfaces plus a few minor enhancments and bugfixes. The following tables list a selection of the most significant enhancements and bug fixes in the service pack.

Enhancements to Import/Export:

  • ACIS SAT multi-part file supprt
  • CATIA V5 version R21 and import of .cgr files
  • CATIA V4: *PIP entity support, SOLIDM exprt of CAD BREP geometry
  • JTOpen import: facet support and export: external config file
  • Inventor 2012
  • Nastran import via STL
  • SC03 support for non-blank tags
  • STL export of assemblies and file merging into a CADfix session
  • SolidWorks 2011
  • Pro/E import: skip blanked entities

GUI Enhancements:

  • Improved build tools for swept/extruded
  • Improved point picking menus
  • New 'Auto-sizing' in Mesh Manager
  • Quick-fix tool bar options have new parameter modifictions prompts

Wizard Process:

  • Improved display/selection of assembly specific instances
  • New Wizard repair for grossly sloppy vertices
  • New find and fix for spiral arc lines

Defeaturing/Simplification:

  • NURBS scaling includes degree reduction
  • Improvements to high aspect ratio face fix
  • Improvements to FLITE3D source creation
  • Derivative averaging for FROGS in an attempt to create a C1 effect
  • Improvements to the self intersecting surface test
  • External visibility filtering
  • Improvements to the accuracy of the Build MOVE/COPY options

General:

  • Smarter 'Save on exit' question
  • New turn angle display shading control
  • New axis-aligned clipping planes
  • User specified display quality values

Extract the contents of the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the README (PDF) file

Customers with active support and maintenance will have received e-mail notification about the release of SP1. This e-mail also contained details about the location of the download files for SP1. If you have not received this e-mail then please contact your regional CADfix support team.
